PHOTOS: MEET THE RITUAL KILLER WHO USES WOMEN FOR STEW AND MEAT PIE

Image
Jorge Beltrao Negromonte was jailed for 23 years for the murder of three young women. Not only did Negromonte kill the women, he also made meat pasties from their flesh. The cannibal, who was a university professor, also ate human flesh, sauteed with onions and oregano, or made the meat into a stew with vegetables. Negromonte, 54, was reported to have butchered one woman in front of her 18-month-old daughter, then fed the toddler pieces of her dead mother for lunch the next day. When confronted with his crime, he said he saw no difference eating human flesh and tucking into some beef. So he stuffed plenty of the former into the pasties known as empadas. He sold them on the streets close to his home in Garanhuns, northern Brazil. According to reports by Daily Record, the serial killer has not savoured the "succulent" taste of human flesh for at least three years. Matt Roper, who was in conversation with the flesh-eater, said that regardless his shaved head and cold sta...

OBOUBA J A ADOFO BLASTS ‘ARROGANT’ SARKODIE

Image
Veteran highlife star Obouba J. A. Adofo, popularly has taken a swipe at musician Sarkodie, describing him as arrogant, ungrateful and disrespectful, for his recent claim that he "is of age and don't just grant radio interviews." According to the man popularly known as 'Shining Star,' Sarkodie's statement was unfortunate and 'below the belt' which requires an unqualified apology to the media fraternity. In an interview on Adom Entertainment Hall show hosted by Mike '2', the 'Owuo mpaso' hit maker reminded the rapper that he rode on the backs of radio presenters to get to where he is now. "My younger brother Sarkodie's statement was too harsh which is borne out of arrogance and disrespect. I think he should quickly render a sincere apology to the radio presenters since they have given him the hype to make him who he is now", Adofo advised. He attributed the pride and arrogance displayed by today's young artist...

The Real Anas: Message from the Morning Man by Kojo Yankson

Image
Since the judicial scandal broke, several of you have been calling and messaging, asking me to get Anas to come blow the lid off fraudulent deals and corruption in all kinds of places -from churches to workplaces to government offices to trotro terminals. The more calls and messages I received, the more clearly I saw just how deep the roots of corruption have spread throughout our society. It made me sad, but I was also struck hard by the irony that a society as corrupt as ours could produce an anti-corruption crusader as effective as Anas Aremeyaw Anas. And let's face it: Anas and his Tiger Eye Investigative team are highly effective at exposing the ills of our society, and bringing the people behind those ills to justice. I'm sure none of us need to be reminded of the shocking truths and dehumanizing injustices they've uncovered, that may otherwise have stayed hidden for all eternity. Who can forget the shocking human rights abuses he revealed in Ghana's biggest psyc...

Trouble Tree: Message from the Morning Man by Kojo Yankson

Image
I read a rather interesting story the other night, about a workman who was having a bad day at work. He had come without a very important drill bit for his power drill, which meant he had to leave a whole wall of work untouched, his electric saw suddenly stopped working, the foreman had ordered the wrong type of wood, and to crown it all, when he was ready to go home after a long, frustrating day, his truck wouldn't start. As his boss gave him a ride home, the workman sat in stony, disappointed silence. They pulled up at his house, and the workman invited his boss indoors to say hello to his family. Just before he opened the front door, the workman stretched out both hands and touched the branches of a little tree growing by the porch. Then he opened the front door and instantly became a totally different person. He gave his wife a bear hug, played and laughed and rolled around with his kids and seemed absolutely nothing like the quiet, defeated man he had just been driving h...

Why my mum used to vote for Rawlings

Image
Award winning rapper, Sarkodie, has stated that his songs are not political but rather about his feelings on present happenings in the country. He said his songs were only a reflection on the socio-economic situation in Ghana and although he didn't expect things to change overnight, he was of the belief that the younger generation who listen to his music would give some thoughts into the issues he addressed in his music. "I think it's gonna take time but I'm still sparking up some brains somewhere that we don't know…I get advice from the old people who are scared because they think the tactic is, 'oh, let's come together as one' but those peace songs, it's ok. Ghana we have peace. Sometimes we need to have that kind of aggressiveness just to make them think for a second…we need drastic measures," he said in an interview on Citi FM ahead of the launch of his new album Mary. "This is not political if you listen to the songs…I don'...

The Office Boy: Message from the Morning Man by Kojo Yankson

Image
A jobless man applied to a large company for the position of Office Boy. For his test, they made him clean an office, mop the washroom, prepare some tea and run an errand. He passed with flying colours. "You're hired", the HR Manager announced to him at the end of the process. "Now just submit your degree certificate to my office and you can start on Monday". "But I don't have a degree", the young man said in alarm. "Really? How do you expect to get a job in an office like this without a degree? I'm sorry, but I'll have to withdraw the offer". Disappointed, the young man walked out onto the street again, with only ten pounds in his pocket. On a whim, he marched to the market, bought a £10 crate of tomatoes and walked door-to-door through the community, selling them at a mark-up. By the end of the day, he had converted his ten pounds into twenty. The next day, he repeated the process. And then the next, And the day afte...
